Jembatan Radug Terkendala Arus Sungai Citarum, Ditutup

On 16 April 2026, a bridge connecting Kecamatan Ibun and Kecamatan Majalaya in Kabupaten Bandung nearly collapsed when strong currents of Sungai Citarum surged. The bridge, called Jembatan Radug, sits in Kampung Radug, Desa Karyalaksana, Kecamatan Ibun. Inspectors found cracks under the deck that shifted the structure slightly.

Kapolsek Ibun IPTU Deny Fourtjahjanto said the event occurred during light rain. He was lucky that no one was on the bridge. He explained that the bridge cannot be used temporarily because it might collapse if forced. He coordinated with PUTR and BBWS to fix the damage. He said the bridge is a key link between the two districts.

He said, "Iya itu kejadiannya jam 21.00 WIB malam tadi. Kami langsung ke lokasi untuk melakukan pengecekan ke lokasi jembatan," Deny, kepada detikJabar, Jumat (17/4/2026). He urged the public, "Kami minta masyarakat agar tidak melintasi jembatan tersebut dan menutup sementara akses jalan tersebut," and added, "Jembatan itu jalur penghubung antara Kecamatan Ibun dengan Kecamatan Majalaya,". He noted no casualties and that the bridge now has a police line and is closed to vehicles. He also mentioned the risk of electricity poles collapsing due to erosion, "Kita melihat juga adanya kerawanan tiang listrik yang terancam roboh akibat abrasi,".

Camat Ibun Pipin Zaenal Arifin said the Forkopimcam team moved quickly after the report. He said the police line was set up to keep people from crossing and directed them to use the Cikonyel route. He added, "Sementara mungkin kami dari Forkopimcam mengarahkan warga supaya lewat ke jalur Cikonyel. Nah, soalnya untuk roda empat paling muter ke arah Majalaya dan ke arah Panggung untuk menghindari hal-hal tidak di inginkan,".

The incident underscores the need for constant monitoring of bridges near rivers, especially during rainfall. The authorities closed the bridge, coordinated repairs, and kept the public safe. No injuries were reported.
