Rumah Agus di Lubuklinggau Ambruk, Dua Anak Luka Kecelakaan

On Rabu, 15 April 2026, a house owned by a resident named Agus in Lubuklinggau, Sumatera Selatan, collapsed after a strong wind. The collapse occurred at Perumahan Baverly Hills on Jalan Kerengak, Kelurahan Batu Urip, Kecamatan Lubuklinggau Utara II, at around 17:00 WIB.

Agus told that only his two children were inside the house at the time. They were lying in the living room. He was working as a construction laborer and his wife was on her way to pick up their other child.

After a rainstorm and angin kencang, the roof of Agus's house suddenly detached. The lightweight wall then collapsed, striking both children.

He said: "Jadi saat kejadian itu angin kencang datang sampai rumah ini berbunyi sampai akhirnya atap rumah terbang. Dindingnya kemudian ambruk dan menimpa kedua anak saya,".

The impact left both children injured. He explained: "Anak saya yang besar (Ica) itu kedua kakinya luka. Sedangkan anak saya yang kecil (Algazi) luka di bagian telinga dan kepalanya,".

Both children were taken to a hospital for treatment. The injuries were caused by the falling wall fragments.

Agus also suffered significant material losses. All belongings in the house were badly damaged. He had only acquired the property two months earlier.

He added: "Sekarang kami meminta pertanggungjawaban dari pihak yang terkait. Saat ini kita terpaksa mengungsi dulu di rumah tetangga,".

The event highlights the vulnerability of low‑cost housing to extreme weather. Residents in the area will need to assess structural safety and consider preventive measures.
